Loggers drop another ranked mat foe

LIBBY - Third-ranked Libby defeated its third-straight ranked Class A wrestling team in dual action Thursday, downing No. 6 Whitefish 50-27.

The Loggers took care of No. 2 Havre in the Central A duals final last weekend and then bested No. 4 Polson 45-35 on Tuesday.

Versus Whitefish, the Loggers came out on top in five of the last six weight classes.

There were seven pins on the night with Libby getting four - Nils Unger at 152, Jake Spencer at 171, Jake Graham at 189 and Travis Hjort at 215.

Phillip Murphy at 98, Danny Neff at 119 and David Lautaret at 160 had falls for Whitefish.

Libby, 12-2 in duals, completes regularseason action Saturday, hosting Ronan.

The divisional tournament follows in Polson, Feb. 5, and state, Feb. 11-12, in Billings.
