An injured man was rescued Wednesday from the backcountry in Glacier National Park.
The park's dispatch center was notified at about 9 a.m. that a 52-year-old man had suffered a possibly broken ankle in the area between Boulder Pass and Hole in the Wall.
The unidentified man was with three other people, according to Melissa Wilson of the park's Public Affairs Office. One hiked out and contacted a park employee by radio.
A Minuteman helicopter flew from West Glacier to pick up a park ranger and land close to the man. The pilot picked up the other two hikers and the injured man. They were flown to West Glacier, where the Columbia Falls ambulance drove the man to a hospital.
He was said to be in good condition except for the injury to his foot.
