Drum Brothers

| July 8, 2005 1:00 AM

Drum Brothers, Montana's premier world percussion ensemble, will be performing outdoors in Bigfork on Saturday on the Riverbend Stage at Sliter Park at 8 p.m.

Drum Brothers presents high-energy performances of original compositions that feature a diverse mix of world sounds: West African djembe and dounoun drums, Middle Eastern frame drums, Australian didgeridoo, close-harmony vocals, and acoustic guitar and flute.

The members are brothers Matthew and Michael Marsolek, Lawrence Duncan and Nathan Zavalney. Talented multi-instrumentalists, the members of the Drum Brothers move easily between uplifting percussion arrangements with audience participation to the softer textures of ethnic flute, clay udu drum and guitar.

Each concert is a journey through a rich landscape of world rhythm and culture, an experience certain to captivate and awaken the ears of audiences young and old. They have performed extensively throughout the Northwest and in Canada at festivals, performing arts series, school assemblies, dance events and private celebrations.

Tickets are $10 in advance at Sunshine CDs in Kalispell and Electric Avenue Books in Bigfork, and $12 at the door. Children 12 and under are admitted for no charge. Please bring your own seating.
