Gregory L. Vorhees, 45, of Coram was sentenced Thursday in federal court for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Chief U.S. District Judge Donald Molloy in Missoula sentenced Vorhees to 10 months in prison, with three years of supervised release afterward.

Vorhees is owner of Packer's Roost bar in Coram.

He pleaded guilty to the charge.

Vorhees was convicted during 1979 of conspiracy to distribute LSD, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. He pleaded guilty to possessing a Marlin/Glenfield model 778 shotgun during October 2003.

During January 2004, he also possessed 47 rounds of ammunition for 9-mm handguns, a .38-caliber handgun, a .22-caliber rifle and a 12-gauge shotgun.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Craig Haller prosecuted the case.

The investigation was a cooperative effort among the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Northwest Drug Task Force and the Flathead County Sheriff's Office.
