Kalispell police

| July 10, 2005 1:00 AM

More than half a dozen youths skateboarding on the steps of an absent neighbor's home on Fifth Avenue East, magically evaporated when Kalispell police arrived Friday afternoon.

A woman who was spare-changing customers in the parking lot of a local liquor emporium refused to depart the premises when asked to do so by management. She did, however, beat feet at the first hint of a police presence.

A man was arrested Friday night on DUI, possession of alcohol, no proof of insurance, expired registration, driving suspended/revoked. Wonder if he'll remember all those charges.

Several teens reported to be going through cars parked at a Third Avenue East North gas station were merely youthful-looking adults picking up their rightful vehicles.

A man was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs and felony warrant.

A man who apparently slept through July Fourth was reported lighting fireworks on Fairway Boulevard.

At 4:30 a.m. there was a report of suspicious activity at a local car wash, where a van was observed parked inside a wash bay. The long and short of it was that the man had been unable to find a motel room for the night. Police suggested he relocate to more conventional digs.

A complaint of loud noise was made Saturday morning in the alley near Second Avenue West where a woman reported a man running a vacuum cleaner - surely an unusual sight. The man turned out to be an employee of a cleaning service, who said he would wait until after 7 a.m. to continue his good works.
