Flathead County commissioners have postponed the public hearing on a proposed countywide mosquito control district until 10 a.m. on Aug. 3.
Originally scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, the hearing date was changed after a request for a delay from the county attorney's office to allow changes in the resolution.
Citizens will have an opportunity to comment on the proposed creation of the tax district to pay for mosquito-control activities throughout the county.
Flathead County now has just two small districts in Kalispell/Evergreen and Somers. The potential threat from West Nile virus is among the reasons commissioners initiated the district formation process.
