Mavs upend Lakers

MISSOULA - A three-run fourth inning and a four-run sixth powered Missoula to an easy 7-1 victory over the Kalispell Lakers Tuesday in AA American Legion baseball action.

Both teams are now tied for second place at 11-8 in the Western Division action with the season winding down.

Missoula hosts Kalispell again for a single game on Thursday.

Missoula entertains the Glacier Twins, 7-10, tonight for two games, beginning at 5 p.m.

Kalispell had five players with one hit and avoided a shutout with a run in the sixth inning.

Craig Olson doubled for Kalispell.

Missoula totaled eight hits, led by Mac Cuffe, who went 2-for-3.

Mavericks' Jesse Ayala had the game's other extra base hit, a double.
