Transients kept officers busy. On Eighth Avenue East, a man moved on after a homeowner was alarmed to find him looking into the back yard. Another transient took more than gentle persuasion to leave a bank that was closed. A man who loitered and made comments that discomfited a clerk was also encouraged to move on. A man who had been kicked out of a motel for not paying his bill moved into his vehicle in the parking lot. He learned he's not welcome there, either.

Men were arrested for partner assault on Seventh Avenue West and on Ninth Avenue West. Another man was charged with the obscure crime of surreptitious observation after a girl caught him watching her through a window when she was in the shower.

A resident on Seventh Avenue East North was rattled after a man came to the door and asked for socks. He got some.

A girl reportedly stole and sold movies from her parents' house on Fifth Street West. Money was taken from a purse at Checker Auto. Suspected employee theft was reported by a business.

A man was charged with having an open container of alcohol.

An thorny, ongoing problem with a rose thief was reported by a gardener on Harrison Boulevard.
