Mildred 'Miss Millie' John, 77
Mildred "Miss Millie" John, 77, passed away July 12, 2005, at Lake View Care Center in Bigfork.
Miss Millie was born Feb. 20, 1928, in New York City.
She graduated from Midwood High School in Brooklyn, N.Y. Miss Millie worked as a secretary in the financial district in Manhattan, and later for an insurance real estate firm on Long island. She was her husband Alfred's secretary while he was on a sabbatical leave from his teaching.
She married Alfred "Al" John in Garden City, Long island, N.Y., in 1954. They shared 51 wonderful years together.
Miss Millie always volunteered for the community and church activities. Millie loved history, especially Colonial Williamsburg, and had a great interest in architecture and colonial life.
Miss Millie was preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude and Louis Nelson.
She is survived by her husband, Al, of Bigfork; sister, Gloria Minet, of Lynbrook, Long Island, N.Y.; and nephews, Tom Minet and family of Upper Montclair, N.J., and Andrew Minet of Lynbrook.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, at the Community United Methodist Church in Bigfork with Rev. Jan Witman officiating.
