Robert Leonard 'Bob' Schumann, 71

Robert Leonard "Bob" Schumann, 71, of Bigfork, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2005, at HealthCenter Northwest in Kalispell.

He was born on July 26, 1933, in Washington, N.J., the son of Leonard and Madeleine (Sharpe) Schumann.

Bob was a graduate of Gettysburg College and a magna cum laude graduate of Dickinson School of Law. Prior to his college years, he served in the U.S. Army, First Infantry Division, Artillery in Germany from 1953-1955.

After many years of a successful career practicing law in New Jersey, Bob was able to live his dream of retiring to Bigfork.

Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed great camaraderie within the Bigfork golf community as a member of the Merrymen and the Roosters.

A trustee of the Bigfork Community Development Foundation Trust and a former president of the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts Foundation, Bob was also on the board of directors of Crane Mountain Estates.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joni; son, Christopher; daughter, Jennifer; stepdaughter, Jennifer; sister; Gail Cornish; brothers, Mark and David; and grandchildren, David, Sarah, Hannah, Lydia, Hunter and Annie Rose.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. July 26, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Bigfork.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be sent to Home Options Hospice, 175 Commons Loop, No. 100, Kalispell, MT 59901.
