A 7-year-old boy died Saturday evening in a utility-tractor accident at his home.

Efforts to resuscitate Carson Brown failed after the accident on Farm to Market Road.

Flathead County Deputy Coroner Brad Stahlberg said Brown had safely driven the Kubota Mule before. It is the size of a four-wheeler, but functions as a utility tractor, he said.

Saturday night, Brown was traversing a hill on his family's property and lost control on the way down. The vehicle ran up against a sapling and tipped. Brown was ejected and the vehicle rolled onto him, Stahlberg said.

West Valley fire department, Whitefish ambulance and ALERT helicopter responded. Brown was flown to Kalispell Regional Medical Center, but did not survive.
