A Glacier National Park trail worker was injured in the Kintla Lake area after being struck by a falling tree Tuesday.
Columbia Falls resident Greg Knutson, 43, was hurt during tree felling operations on the Kintla Lake Trail.
Rangers responded after being contacted by a trail crew member at about 1 p.m.
Knutson, the crew leader, suffered multiple injuries but was stabilized and transported by boat to the foot of the lake. He was transferred to a Columbia Falls ambulance, which met the ALERT helicopter farther south near the park's Round Prairie area.
Knutson was flown to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
