More teams welcome to join Flathead Valley Relay for Life

| June 15, 2005 1:00 AM

Flathead Valley Relay for Life, a premier local fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society, will be held June 24-25 at Flathead High School Legends Field.

The 14-hour walk-a-thon starts at 6 p.m. June 24 and concludes at 8 a.m. the following morning. Teams and individuals get pledges to participate in the event.

Cancer survivors begin the event by making a lap around the track. Qdoba restaurant will serve a hot meal that evening. Live music and games follow until 11 p.m., when a luminaria ceremony is held. Names of cancer victims are read at midnight.

There's still plenty of time to form a team. Call Joan Paulson at 862-5374 or Betty Mace at 751-3353.
