Powerhouse blues band blasts into Polson

| June 17, 2005 1:00 AM

Too Slim & The Taildraggers, one of the Northwest s most sought after blues-rock bands, plays for The Lakehouse Music in the Meadow summer concert series on June 25.

Tim Too Slim Langford, Dave Groove Master Nordstrom, and Zachariah Timothy Cooper, are the masterminds behind Too Slim and the Taildraggers. With their unique style of the blues, roots-rock, Americana, rockabilly and surf, they have kept audiences dancing for over 20 years.

The three-piece band hails from Seattle, where its devoted regional fan base has grown over the years into a national and international following.

The band recently released its most ambitious album to date, Tales of Sin and Redemption, on the VU Records Label.

With a combination of contemporary and traditional influences, Too Slim has found a unique niche with a sound that can only be defined as its own. The band s live sets are legendary, featuring the blazing guitar solos and astute slide work of Langford. His raw, high energy, yet smooth fretwork has often been compared to the late Lightnin Hopkins, George Thorogood and Johnny Winter. The powerhouse rhythm section of drummer Cooper and bass man Nordstrom propels the group.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. They are available at The Lake House and Top 40 Video in Polson, Electric Avenue Books in Bigfork, Sportsman Ski Haus in Kalispell and Rockin Rudy s in Missoula.
