Richard 'Dick' Porter Watts, 66

Richard "Dick" Porter Watts, 66, passed away Monday, June 13, 2005, at his home in Kalispell.

He was born Oct. 25, 1938, in Glasgow, to Cary Porter and Evelyn (Anderson) Watts. Dick was raised on the family farm in the Flathead Valley.

He was educated at the Lake Blaine Country School, graduating from Flathead County High School and then joined the Army to serve in the tank recon in Korea.

Upon departure from the military, he followed in his father's footsteps in heavy construction as a crane operator, a widely traveled career, much of which centered around Anchorage, Alaska, and surrounding islands.

He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Locals 302 and 612 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 234 Inc.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, C.P. and Evelyn Watts, and two brothers, Clifford E. Watts and James A. Watts.

He is survived by one brother, Clarence A Watts, of Kalispell; three sisters, Georgia J. Doane, Signa M. Howe and Verna L. Wilson; two stepdaughters, Patrice and Mandi; as well as many friends and beneficiaries of his sharing and caring.

Memorial services on behalf of Richard "Dick" Porter Watts will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at Johnson Mortuary Chapel.

A reception in his memory will be announced at the service.
