Mariners take two from Lakers

POLSON -Brandon Thompson homered in both contests, and was the winning pitcher in the opener, as Mission Valley Mariners swept a doubleheader from the Kalispell Lakers Tuesday, 12-0 and 15-1.
Mission Valley, 3-0 in league and 22-10 overall, had six run fourth innings in each game.
Thompson, who now as nine home runs on the season, struck out five, issued nine walks and threw a no-hitter in the first game.
Mission Valley outhit Kalispell 9-0 in the opener and 10-3 in the second game.
Joe Locke was the winning pitcher in the second game, raising his season record to 6-1.
Mission Valley faces Spokane Panthers at 2 p.m. today in the 16th annual Ed Gallo Memorial Tournament in Whitefish. The Lakers face the Libby Loggers at 11:45 a.m. at Memorial Field in tourney play in Whitefish.
The tournament runs through Saturday.
