Glacier splits with Med Hat

MEDICINE HAT, Alberta - The Glacier Twins rallied from a 5-2 deficit to pull out a 9-7 victory in the opening game of an American Legion baseball doubleheader Tuesday at Medicine Hat.

Medicine Hat, however, had its rally caps on in the second game, winning 11-8.

"We hit the ball at the right time," said Glacier coach Jack Helber of the opener. "Came from behind.

"Second game, we shot ourselves in the foot. Gave up six unearned runs in the (seventh)."

Nik Caron slapped his second home run of the season in the seventh inning of the first game.

Jarred Krueger clubbed his second HR of the year, a three-run shot in the third inning, in Game 2.

Glacier, 4-2 in league and 11-20 overall, hosts the Kalispell Lakers, 5 p.m., Thursday. Then the two teams head for Kalispell to play another seven-inning contest right after that.
