A man who died in a motorcycle accident Monday was identified as Gary Slaugh of Rock Springs, Wyo.
Slaugh and his wife, who was not identified, were traveling near Dog Creek Campground on U.S. 93 north of Olney when a deer ran out in front of the motorcycle.
Slaugh lost control of his motorcycle as he swerved to miss the deer. He was thrown into the southbound lane where he was struck by a loaded logging truck.
Slaugh's wife was thrown from the bike but was not struck by the logging truck. She was flown by ALERT helicopter to Kalispell Region Medical Center, where she was treated and released.
The couple were traveling with Gary's two brothers, one sister and their spouses. None of the others in the group was injured.
