Mariners thump Glacier

POLSON -Terry Lundeen was 3-for-8 at the plate with a triple, a double and two RBI and Joe Locke batted 3-for-7 with a double as the Mission Valley Mariners defeated the visiting Glacier Twins A in a doubleheader Wednesday evening.
Scores were 13-5 and 6-1.
The Mariners scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to break open the first game.
In the nightcap, Mission Valley busted out of the gate with six runs in the first two innings.
Brian Newbury led the Twins at the plate. He was 4-for-6 on the day with a two-run home run.
The Mariners (8-0, 30-12) play host this weekend in their annual Firecracker Tournament.
Teams planning to attend are Glacier Twins, Libby Loggers, Kalispell Lakers, Cranbrook and Kootenai Valley
Tim Gauthier picked up the win in the first game for Mission Valley while Lundeen got the second game victory.
