Flathead County Sheriff's Office was called to East Evergreen Drive Monday, when a blond, 8-year-old boy reportedly tried to start someone's car and get it into gear. The resident told the child to go home, and he said he doesn't know where he lives. He was gone when a deputy arrived.

A boy was arrested for disorderly conduct after a fight at Bigfork High School.

Boat vandalism was reported on Bierney Creek Road.

There's a suspect in the theft of a camcorder on Boone Road. Other thefts were reported on Middle Road, at Lake Hills Court where snowshoes were taken, on Echo Lake Road where change and clothing vanished, and on Gamma Road where a thief took a CD player and other items from a vehicle and left behind a screwdriver.

A checkbook that disappeared was found at the airport with a check missing; someone tried to cash it in California.

A dog was shot on White Birch Lane.

Domestic problems were reported at Kokanee Bend and on U.S. 93 south of Kalispell.

Drivers between Columbia Heights and Hungry Horse were ambushed by ice Monday night. Several vehicles went into the ditch; no one was seriously hurt.
