Fund-raisers abound

Hope Pregnancy Center sponsors its annual Spring Banquet fund-raiser tonight at the Christian Center in Kalispell.

After an appetizer social and opportunity to meet the Center's board, staff and volunteers, the program will begin at 7 p.m. with a catered dinner and a look at Hope Pregnancy Center's many community outreach programs.

Proceeds will go toward continuing Hope Pregnancy Center's mission and assistance to young women with unplanned pregnancies.

Tickets are $25 per person or $200 to sponsor a table of eight. Reservations are required. Call 257-6006.

Cub Scouts hold derby

The Columbia Falls Cub Scout Pack No. 101 Pinewood Derby gets under way at 9 a.m. this morning in the gym at Fellowship Alliance Church, 1025, Seventh Ave. W., in Columbia Falls. Everyone is welcome.

Model railroad fans to meet this morning

The Flathead Valley Model Railroad Club meets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the old bowling alley at 1265 North Fork Road. The club meets the first and third Saturdays of every month.

If you love model trains and want to share your hobby with others, come and join the fun.

Veterans Food Pantry having sale

The North West Montana Veterans Food Pantry is having an Attic Treasure Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today to support local veterans and their families at the Flathead County Fairgrounds Grandstand building.

Antiques and collectibles, vintage glassware, lamps and household items, Christmas decorations, records, art work, furniture and much more will be up for sale.

Majestic Valley Arena scene of fund-raiser

A fund-raiser for Caitlin Tracy, Miss Teen Rodeo Montana 2005, will be held tonight at Majestic Valley Arena in Kalispell.

Free food and refreshments will be available, along with door prizes. A silent auction begins at 6 p.m. and the live auction gets under way at 8 p.m. Music and dancing will wrap up the evening. Proceeds will go toward assisting Tracy with her travel expenses.

Asbestos Health Fair today in Libby

The Asbestos Health Fair in Libby will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Ponderosa Room, Libby City Hall. Free health evaluations and tests will be offered, along with lectures by various doctors, professionals and research scientists. Door prizes and healthy snacks will be available. Catch the race fever

It's Race Fever Days at the Kalispell Center Mall today and Sunday. Get autographs and see the race cars. There will also be T-shirt give-aways and races on a remote control race track. The event is free and the public is welcome to attend.

Special Olympics get under way

The Winter Games of the Montana Special Olympics get under way Sunday through Tuesday on Big Mountain. Athletes will parade Sunday at 3 p.m. in Whitefish. Opening ceremonies are at 7:30 p.m. Sunday night at Chair 2.
