Warren "Hoot" Evers, 82

Warren "Hoot" Evers, 82, World War II veteran and retired office manager of Glacier Electric, died of cancer Thursday, March 3, at a Cut Bank medical center.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Cut Bank. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. A reception will follow burial at the church. Pondera Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Hoot is survived by his wife, Ann Evers of Cut Bank; daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and Jeff Salois of Bigfork, and Judy and Pius Lynch of Las Vegas; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Jana Evers of Anchorage, Alaska; honorary daughter, Denice Gustine of Manhatten; grandsons, Nicholas and Corey Salois of Bigfork and Elliott Evers of Helena; granddaughters, Abbie and Elizabeth Lynch of Las Vegas; and two long-time good friends, Don Jarvenpaa and Don Topp.

Hoot was born July 3, 1922, in Westside, Iowa, to Virtus and Helen Evers. During World War II, he served overseas from 1942-1946. Warren married Anne Hovde in 1947.

He worked in Cut Bank for 40 years for Glacier Electric Cooperative. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Elk's Club. Hoot served actively in the Boy Scouts for 30 years.
