A paraglider got an unexpected half hour of hang time in the Jewel Basin Saturday evening after he hit an updraft and was unable to land. The man's paragliding partner, who had landed safely, alerted the Flathead County Sheriff's office and deputies monitored the situation. Fires burning in the Strawberry Peak area, where the paraglider was headed, added some drama to the moment, but the man eventually landed OK.

Two women kayaking on the Flathead River Sunday afternoon spotted an overturned aluminum boat near Evergreen. They were able to retrieve a warm thermos and a coat, but couldn't get the boat. After investigating, authorities learned the boaters had overturned their craft and went home after swimming to shore.

There was road rage on Patrick Creek Road, where a motorist ran a man off the road, then got out of his vehicle and yelled at him.

A purse was stolen from a car on Reservoir Road near Whitefish.
