Glacier National Park has received more than $4,500 worth of professional digital photography equipment from Kodak through the National Park Foundation.

According to Glacier Superintendent Mick Holm, the equipment will be used to aid the production of interpretive exhibits, park publications, signs, public information and educational materials. Glacier received a Kodak Professional DCS Pro SLR/c digital camera, a Tamron 28-70DI 2.8 lens and a 1-gigabyte Lexar professional memory card.

"This is a great opportunity for Glacier," Holm said. "We have a full-time graphics staff and a state-of-the-art sign shop that allow us to produce professional exhibits from concept and design to production and installation. The Kodak professional digital camera will fit perfectly into this process which frequently calls for high resolution images. In addition, we will be able to use the camera to document important park events like the 2003 historic wild fires and to update our photo files."
