Friday turned out to be the warmest day so far this year in the Flathead Valley, reaching a record-high 65 degrees by late afternoon.
That temperature exceeded the previous record of 64 degrees for March 11, set in 1900, according to the National Weather Service.
The balmy weather is expected to end this weekend, however.
The forecast for Northwest Montana calls for a shift to cooler weather and possible precipitation starting today.
Possible rain or snow is expected in the Flathead Valley today, along with a high of 51 and lows reaching 25 degrees.
Scattered precipitation and lower temperatures are predicted for the next several days.
