Flathead County sheriff's deputies had a chicken caper on their hands Friday. A 10-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl on Kelly Road were allegedly taking chickens from a woman's property in Columbia Falls.

A purse was reported stolen from the Village Well Friday.

A woman on Blacktail Road reported that she saw her neighbor shoot a dog at 9:45 a.m. Saturday. She didn't know who owned the dog.

A resident on West Valley Drive discovered Saturday that a 2002, red and yellow Polaris 120 Snowcat was taken from his garage sometime in the last four weeks.

Criminal mischief was reported in Kila on Spring Hill Road. An ex-boyfriend threw a rock through a woman's window, nearly hitting her son. The man was also suspected of taking the woman's purse and ripping the phone off the wall earlier in the evening.

Screaming and banging alarmed neighbors at the El Rancho Motel after 1 a.m. Saturday. The couple had settled their dispute when deputies arrived and agreed to go to bed.

A motorist reported criminal mischief on North Hilltop Friday. Someone had stretched heavy gauge fish line across the road.
