Preparations begin for annual Creston Auction
The Daily Inter Lake
The 39th Annual Creston Auction and Country Fair and the accompanying RV, Marine, Auto & Equipment Sale will be April 2 and 3 at Creston, 12 miles east of Kalispell on Montana 35.
This family-friendly event consistently draws more than 7,000 people to Creston on the first weekend in April.
The April 2 auction features building materials, household merchandise, sports equipment, tools, tack, specialty items, and a large array of antiques. Arts and crafts will be on display and for sale in the Eastside Grange Hall.
A rummage and bake sale will be held in the Creston School gym. (Donations of items for both the rummage and bake sales are always needed and welcome.)
On April 3, the afternoon sale features cars, trucks, boats, recreational vehicles, tractors, farm equipment, trailers and hundreds of other large items.
Both sales are open consignment with merchandise coming from all over the Northwest. Early listings will be advertised throughout the state. Consignors are encouraged to list their larger items early to benefit from the scheduled advertising.
Merchandise will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 1 at the sale grounds in Creston. Sellers may specify that the proceeds from the sale of the consigned items (minus the consignment fee) be given to a specific organization - a great way to raise money for your church, school, or other group.
Hot food will be available all day April 2 and 3. Limited inside seating will be available April 2.
This annual fund-raiser also includes a raffle for a rifle, handmade quilt or hog. The drawing will be held Sunday afternoon, and tickets are available from any Creston Fire Department member or at the auction ($1 each or six for $5).
