Crusaders come up just short

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Flathead Valley Home School girls basketball team came up short in the championship game of the National Home School Tournament on Saturday, falling to the Cincinnati Trailblazers 45-41.

Charity Zemke led the Crusaders with 19 points and six steals. Zemke and teammates Janelle Sheeran and Alyssa Sladek were named to the All-American team. Sladek had eight points and 12 rebounds and also earned the Christian Character Award. Sheeran scored eight points.

The Crusaders were honored with a team character award representing their eight-team bracket at the conclusion of the tournament.

FVHS was within a poaint entering the fourth quarter, but the Trailblazers made their free throws to secure the win. Cincinnati was 15-of-30 from the line, the Crusaders were 11-for-20.
