Corey Linden McMillan, 44, passed away March 16, 2005, at his home near Kalispell.

Corey was born on Sept. 25, 1960, in Denver. Corey fought a long, hard, and courageous battle from injuries he received in a car accident when he was 16. He attended high school in Whitefish where he played football, baseball and ran track.

He was a very kind and generous man and maintained a good attitude despite the challenges of his life. He cared deeply for his family and brought joy to everyone around him.

He worked at the Columbia Falls Aluminum Company, Big Mountain, and installed solar systems in Denver.

He loved the outdoors and spent as much time as he could fishing, hunting, hiking and pursuing shed antlers of the wily Montana elk and deer. Corey was a member of Flathead Wildlife Inc. A great joy for Corey took place in the fall of 2004 when he harvested an antelope buck of record book stature. In his later years, he raised ring-neck and exotic pheasants.

Corey was preceded in death by his brother Kennan in 1981.

He is survived locally by his father and mother, Howard and Nickolyn McMillan of Kalispell, and by a brother, Bryan and his wife, Torrie, and their two children, Breanna and Hunter of Kennewick, Wash. Corey also awaits many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A celebration of Corey's life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Kalispell, with Father Victor E. Langhans celebrating the Mass.

Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Mortuary and Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Mothers against Drunk Driver's (MADD).
