Jack Lee Atkinson II, 59, Lakeside resident, died March 21, 2005. He was cremated at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home.

Jack was born Nov. 2, 1945, in Muncie, Ind., to Jack L. Atkinson and Virginia (Robbins) Atkinson. He was the eldest of four siblings.

Jack joined the Air Force in 1964, after high school, where he attained the rank of Sgt. E-4 and was honorably discharged in 1968.

Jack lived in Minot, N.D., and attended Minot State College. He later worked as a salesman and merchandiser at several local businesses in Minot. Jack worked for United Printing for many years.

Jack was an avid fisherman and enjoyed many hours on the Missouri River with family and friends catching walleye.

Because of health reasons and his great love of the outdoors, Jack came to Montana where he continued to make many new friends, learn how to cut wood Montana-style and skin a bear. Jack's remaining years were fulfilled through the many friends that entered his life while living in Lakeside and the love he had for his children.

Jack is survived by his four children: Todd Atkinson and wife, Elsa, of Texas City, Texas; Michelle Atkinson of Minot; Tyler Atkinson and Sarah Atkinson, both of Fargo. Also surviving are his mother, Virginia Robbins Atkinson, of Lakeside; brother, Dan Atkinson, and wife, Louise, of Lakeside; sister, Jill Hart, and husband, Merrill, of Muncie, Ind.; and sister, Theresa Skinner, and husband, Jeff, of Muncie. Jack had only one grandson, Tanner Jessen.

He will be missed by many.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, at the Lakeside Chapel in Lakeside, with Pastor John Ulrich officiating. After the services a reception will be held at the Homestead Cafe in Lakeside.

A memorial fund has been established at Flathead Bank-Lakeside, P.O. Box 769, Lakeside MT 59922. Flowers may be sent to 188 Troutbeck Road, Lakeside, MT.
