Louise Monk, 89
Louise Monk, 89, passed away March 28, 2005, at Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell.
She was born Anna Louise Monk on June 6, 1915, to Wallace and Grace Haines Monk in Kalispell. She attended local schools and graduated from Flathead High School in 1932.
After graduation she attended the University of Montana in Missoula. She then went on to work in San Francisco, Havre, and Great Falls, as a secretary for Social Security and the Army Corps of Engineers.
She returned to Kalispell in the 1950s, working as an executive secretary for the Bonneville Power Administration and later at the Columbia Falls Aluminum Plant.
In the early 1960s she ran the Trading Post and Pawn Shop for many years. She then earned her real estate license and sold real estate for several years. Her last enterprise was the Heritage Antiques, which she ran until her retirement in 1996. Antiques were her lifelong passion and she was considered the local expert on glassware.
Her favorite place to be was on the family ranches in Pleasant Valley, where she said the sun was always shining.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Edward, and sister, Doris Daley.
She is survived by her brothers, Austin Monk and Bob Monk, of Pleasant Valley, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
At Louise's request cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Interment will take place in the family plot at the C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery on June 6.
