The Kalispell City Council has a slew of development requests and board appointments to handle at its meeting tonight.

The council will discuss:

. A resolution that states the council will in the near future vote on a measure that would increase building fees to pay for hiring additional employees to handle heavy work loads due to growth. The council also will announce its intent to schedule a public hearing on the increase.

. A request for final plat approval of Empire Estates, a 56-lot phase of the development involving 11 acres on the east side of Stillwater Road north of Three Mile Drive.

. A conditional use permit that would allow Central Bible Church to build a storage building on the south side of the church at 902 First Ave. E.

. Annexing and granting preliminary plat approval and initial zoning for Spring Creek Estates, a 171-lot single-family residential subdivision on 51 acres on the south side of Three Mile Drive east of Farm to Market Road. Applicants Tim Birk and Roy and Carol Stanley want an initial zoning designation of urban single-family residential.

. Annexing and granting preliminary plat approval and initial zoning for Granary Ridge Townhomes, a project that calls for 16 two-unit townhouses on 2.5 acres on the east side of Whitefish Stage Road north of Edgerton School. Applicant Valley Ventures seeks an initial zoning designation of low-density residential apartment.

. Numerous board appointments, such as those to the planning board and parking commission.

The council will meet in a work session following the meeting to discuss energy-efficient street lights.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in City Hall.
