Anna Shipman Tracht, 89
Anna Shipman Tracht, 89, passed away at her home in Kalispell, April 30, 2005. She was born June 22, 1915, at Goldstone, Mont., to Ernest and Mary Waugh Shipman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Raymond; and sisters, Bernece Wolery, Ruthie Smith and Doris Een.
She is survived by Howard, her husband and soulmate of 70 years; her daughter, Maryle, and son-in-law Arlen Roll; her son, Lloyd; a grandson, John Roll, and his wife MaryAnn; great-grandson, Marshall Roll; granddaughter, Linda Robb, and her husband, Don. She is also survived by one brother Ercell Shipman; sisters, Louise Richter, Marion Gilson, and Donna Nealy; and many nieces and nephews and friends too numerous to mention.
Anna went to grade school in Wisconsin and Gladstone, attended high school in Rudyard Montana and received her teaching degree from Northern Montana College in Havre.
She taught at country schools in north central Montana and was married to Howard in 1935. She enjoyed raising her children, and their home on the Stillwater River where they lived for 36 years. She especially enjoyed having her grandchildren there in the summer and holidays.
Anna spent many happy hours involved in church work and volunteering for church committees. She was active in PEO, and volunteered for community services. There was nothing more important to her than her family friends and her religion.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 6, at Epworth United Methodist Church in Kalispell. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Buffalo Hills Funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial gifts be sent in Anna'd5s name to a charity of their choice.
