Ardyce Adell Dubia, 62

Ardyce Adell Dubia, 62, a Fairbanks and North Pole, Alaska, resident, died April 30, 2005, in Pocatello, Idaho, following a tragic RV accident while traveling home to Alaska.

Ardyce was born on Jan. 22, 1943, in Kalispell, to the late Harold Russell and Elva Mae Haven. She attended high school at Flathead County High School. All through her childhood years she lived in Kalispell with her four siblings. Together they grew up singing as a family in the First Church of Nazarene.

She was united in marriage to her lifelong partner Robert William "Bob" Dubia, on her 21st birthday, Jan. 22, 1964. Together they traveled to Alaska, in 1968, in a 1968 Ford pickup where they established their home in North Pole.

Ardyce gave birth to their only child, Robert Ryan Dubia, "Bobby," or better known as "The Kid," in 1969, in Fairbanks.

In 1968, Ardyce started her Civil Service career in Lakeside and retired in Alaska at Eielson AFB in 1998. Ardyce received numerous awards for outstanding performance from the Air Force as a civilian employee. Through the 30 years she also worked side by side with her family in the family business well known to many; BAB Hauling & Excavating.

She was a member of the Chena Lakes Lions Club, Loyal Order of the Moose, "Woman of the Moose," strong supporter of the women's auxiliary, and VFW Post 10029, North Pole.

She is survived by her husband, Robert William "Bob" Dubia, of Fairbanks and North Pole; her son and his wife, Bobby, and Lynett Dubia of North Pole; grandchildren, Ryan Andrew and Bobbi Marie Dubia -- affectionately known as, "Sis", both of North Pole, Kristi Lynn Howard of Fairbanks, and Robert "Chayce" Dubia of North Pole, Brittany Lynn Simpson and Mikayla Lynn Russell, both of North Pole, and Daniel Ryan Dubia, known by Grandma as "The Little Kid," also of North Pole.

She is also survived by her sister, Elva Mae and husband, Jerry Knudson, of Kalispell, and their children, Jerilyn Renee, Aaron Russell and Tracy Lynn; brother, Harold Richard and wife, Sandra Ann Haven, of Kalispell, and their children, Jeffrey Lee, Laura Ann, Douglas LeRoy and Sharon Marie; sister, Glenys Charlene and husband, Gordan E. Bowerman, of Nenana, Alaska, and their children, Todd Allen, Merrianne and Zane Avery; brother, Clifford Theron and wife, Karen Ann Haven, of Kalispell, and their children, Carla Michelle, Craig Timothy, Connie Sue, and Cathy Elizabeth; and other relatives and many friends.

A celebration of Ardyce's life will be held in Kalispell at a later time.

Ardyce spent many years vacationing with family and friends at the Clearwater Lodge and lake in Delta, Alaska. Clearwater was in her heart for peace and good times. Ardyce has chosen to be laid to rest by spreading her ashes across the lake.
