Penny 'Penny' Harvey White, 54

Penelope "Penny" Harvey White of Whitefish, died Monday, May 2, 2005, as a result of a plane accident near Mt. Aeneas in the Jewel Basin in Northwest Montana.

Penny was born Jan. 19, 1951, in Corvallis, Ore., daughter of Francis and Lawrence Harvey. She was raised in San Diego, attended the University of San Diego and later graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in dental hygiene.

She married Martin V. White on Dec. 31, 1987. They moved to Whitefish 13 years ago.

Penny was an amazingly creative person, and showed her genuine warm and

loving nature while entertaining friends, hosting cooking extravaganzas, golfing with her team at Whitefish Lake Golf Course, flying her plane or skiing, with her beloved "Divine Bovines."

She was an artist with leather. She began designing purses, portfolios and pillows. Her creativity grew to restoring the leather interior of airplanes. She developed Penelope, Inc., Aircraft Interiors, at Glacier International Airport, which she operated up until the time of the accident.

Penny is survived by her parents, Francis and Lawrence Harvey of Sacramento, Calif.; sister, Patricia Griahalva, and brother, Dennis Harvey, both of Colorado Springs, Colo., and David and wife, Diane Harvey, of Sacramento; a number of nieces and nephews; and her stepsons, Andrew and Justin White.

A memorial celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Monday, May 9 at their hangar just north of Glacier International Airport. Turn west at gate near Rocky Mountain Avionics.
