Cornelia Sherman Addington, 92

Cornelia Sherman Addington, 92, died on Friday May 6, 2005, at Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell.

She was born on Oct. 4, 1912, in Polson where her parents were homesteading. Later they moved to Kalispell where she and her two sisters, and two brothers were raised. She attended Central School, and graduated from Flathead County High School. During the summers of her 16th and 17th years she was the hostess at Many Glacier Hotel in Glacier Park. She attended the University of Washington in Seattle.

After college she went on to be the head designer at the Kickernick Lingerie Company in Minneapolis for many years. She also was an interior decorator in San Diego.

In 1952 she married Jack Ensign Addington in Los Angeles. They were both ordained ministers and together co-founded two large churches in San Diego. They also co-founded the Abundant Living Foundation, which published the Abundant Living magazine and other literature. This foundation brought their teachings to thousands in the United States, Canada and throughout the world.

Cornelia co-authored and edited many books with her husband, Jack Addington. These include "Psychogenesis … Everything Begins in Mind," "The Hidden Mystery of the Bible," "Your Needs Met," "How to Love and be Loved," "The Perfect Power Within You," "All About Prosperity and How You Can Prosper," The Wonder-working Power of God," "The Secret of Healing," "Life Never Dies," and "The Joy of Meditation," most of which are still in print, and have been printed in many different languages throughout the world.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, in 1999.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara and her husband, Jim Jacoby, of Chicago; son, David and his wife, Lissa Addington, of Tripp Island, S.C.; one sister, Dorothy and her husband, Gene McGlenn, of Kalispell; grandchildren, Jim and his wife, Dawn Jacoby, of Chicago, Sam Addington, and Cynthia and her husband, Brian Davis.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to your favorite charity.

Buffalo Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and cremation.
