The Kalispell City Council meets today for a one-item agenda: the new fire hall on the north side of town.

Kalispell ready to award contract for new fire station

The council will vote to award a contract to Martel Construction of Bigfork for construction of the new fire hall south of Lowe's and north of the Kidsports complex.

Martel was the low bidder among three companies. The contract is for $2.32 million.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in City Hall, after which the council will meet for a work session on the public safety component of the 2005-06 budget.
