Officers promoted, reassigned

Flathead County Sheriff Jim Dupont announced promotions and an award Thursday.
-Kevin Burns, supervisor of the Northwest Drug Task Force and former SWAT-team member, was promoted to sergeant.
-Brad Stahlberg, a firearms instructor and SWAT-team member, was promoted to patrol sergeant.
-Bill Emerson, a field-training officer and dog handler, was promoted to patrol corporal.
-Brad Parker, a detective who has been active on the SWAT team, was promoted to corporal.
-Tom Snyder, coordinator of search and rescue, was promoted to corporal.
-Jordan White, a SWAT-team member, field-training officer and dive team commander, was promoted to corporal.
Among them, the men have 45 years of service to the sheriff's office.
Bev Martinez received the sheriff's commendation for outstanding performance in duties. A longtime officer in the detention center, she has been a sergeant, a training officer, and worked on equipping the jail with the National Crime Information Center system.
The Kalispell Police Department has made several staff changes, beginning with the retirement of patrol lieutenant Paul Jacobs.
-Jim Brenden was promoted to patrol lieutenant, replacing Jacobs.
-Kevin McCarvel takes Brenden's place in the detectives division.
-Tony McDonnell was promoted to sergeant.
The department also has two new officers.
Dave Thomason, a Navy veteran, comes to the department from Los Angeles Police Department. He is 38.
Ryan Shima, 29, moved to Kalispell from his position with Whitefish Police Department.
