Whitefish police Monday arrested the former social services director at Colonial Manor for allegedly defrauding residents there.

Rebecca Bond, 51, faces four felonies and four misdemeanor counts of theft and elder abuse.

She worked for the home from June through September, according to Whitefish Police detective Sgt. Roger Bergstrom.

She is accused of taking money by check and by bank card from four elderly residents. Some of the money was spent in a casino, he said.

Police were first notifed of the thefts by a bank. Bond reportedly told some residents to write checks in various amounts leaving the pay to line blank.

Bond is accused of stealing more than $3,500.
