Someone was rescued from Bitterroot Lake late Tuesday morning after yelling for help, about 300 yards from shore. Flathead County Sheriffs Office dispatched Marion ambulance. Sheriffs deputies and Flathead Search & Rescue were notified, but a lake resident paddled out to the victim, who was flown to the hospital by ALERT helicopter.

North Valley Search & Rescue spent about eight hours on a search for a hunter at Hungry Horse Reservoir. He was able to communicate on a walkie-talkie after walking on the wrong side of a ridge, without a coat on. He was found at about 2 a.m. Tuesday after a boat was launched and located him and a fire he built on the bank of the reservoir.

There was evidence that someone tried to break into two homes on Foys Lake Road Monday night. One resident reported that some threw a brick through a large window and removed screens from other windows; the power there had also been shut off.

At Patrick Creek, a resident was awakened by two males trying to get into the home; they ran when they realized someone was inside.

On U.S. 93 north of Whitefish, a resident reported two hunters in a Toyota truck trespassing on his property, even though he had earlier warned them to stay off. Someone witnessed a driver on Kienas Road get out of a vehicle and shoot a fox. Illegal hunting was also reported on Cougar Drive, where one or two teenagers were arrested.

Harassment was reported on Belton Stage Road.

A paintball broke a vehicle window on Stoner Creek Road.

A fishing pole was stolen on Grand Drive. Prescription drugs were stolen on Lodgepole Drive.

On Farm Road, a couples disagreement needed refereeing.
