Michael Sachkowsky Sr., 93

Michael Sachkowsky Sr., 93, passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell.

Mike was born Oct. 8, 1912, in Russia, to John and Katherine Sachkowsky. He moved to the United States in 1926. He lived in South River, N.J., where he attended high school.

Mike married Mary Sernicky on Nov. 22, 1941, in Elizabeth, N.J.

Mike worked his whole life as a machinist. Mike and his wife, Mary, moved to Montana in October 2005.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in New Jersey. He loved fishing, and especially traveling with his wife, Mary.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Sachkowsky, of Whitefish; sons, Michael Sachkowsky of Columbia Falls, and Peter Sachkowsky of Howard, Pa.; one daughter, Cathy Sachkowsky, of Ringwood, N.J.; and two grandsons, Michael and Jay Sachkowsky, both of New Jersey.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, with Deacon Fred Topp officiating. Burial will be afterward the services at Glacier Memorial Gardens.
