A 17-year-old girl was found

after a short search on Big Mountain, where she got lost snowboarding Sunday evening.

Sheriff's deputies, Flathead and North Valley Search and Rescue, and Nordic Ski Patrol participated in the search for the girl, who got separated from friends near the radio towers on the mountain. The resort is not open for skiing, and Nordic Ski Patrol hadn't passed out pagers for the season yet, but the girl and others got a jump-start on the season. She was found, unharmed, by Big Mountain personnel.
