Winifred Alice "Win" Hartwell Wills, 94, died Nov. 10, 2005, at Brendan House.

She was born Sept. 21, 1911, in Fernie, British Columbia, to Albert Edward and Alice Elizabeth Higson Hartwell. She lived briefly in England with her parents but they soon returned to Canada, settling in Claresholm, British Columbia, where Win attended school.

After graduating from high school, she attended "normal" school, becoming a school teacher. After a few years of teaching, Win met and married Colin Mackay Wills of Butte. After their marriage on July 16, 1936, the newlyweds settled in Kalispell where they raised their family.

Win was a member of Christ Church Episcopal, at one time serving as president of the Alicia Club. She was known for the beautiful afghans which she contributed to church bazaars.

Win enjoyed family, friends, sports - especially golf and baseball, bridge and traveling. She and Colin traveled extensively after his retirement, including a six-month trip around the world, plus trips to Hawaii, Europe and the United Kingdom. Winters were spent in Arizona, Florida or Mexico.

Win was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bert Hartwell; her husband of 68 years in May 2005; and their eldest daughter, Barbara Wills Meyers, in 2004.

She is survived by a daughter, Colleen Breeze, and husband, Stephen, and a son, Robert Wills and wife, Nina, all of Kalispell, five grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren.

At Win's request there will be no public service.

Buffalo Hill Funeral Home is caring for the family.
