Flathead County Sheriff
Flathead County Sheriff's Office is investigating a suspected arson at an empty cabin behind the former Ol' River Bridge Inn in Columbia Heights on Tuesday. About 40 firefighters from Badrock, Columbia Falls, Martin City, Hungry Horse, and Creston fire departments responded, but the building was engulfed in flames and beyond saving. Badrock Fire Chief Rick Hagen said the structure was empty, with no utilities, and no natural ignition source for a fire.
Volunteers "did a great job" on the fire, which was reported before midnight, Hagen said.
