Libby Luann Levitt Wallace, 39, "went to be with the Lord" on Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Oct. 24, 1965, in Spokane, the daughter of Daryl and Barbara Levitt of Kalispell. Libby married Christopher P. Wallace in June 1993.

She is survived by her husband, Chris, a daughter, Kathryn, a son, Justin, her parents, a sister, Patricia Kauffman, and grandparents, Joe and Edna Sias, all of Kalispell; a sister, Jill Severa, of Omaha, Neb.; a brother, Christopher Levitt, of Hillsboro, Ore.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Libby moved with her family back to Kalispell when she was 6 months old and graduated from New Covenant Christian School in 1983. She completed Discipleship Training School with Youth With A Mission in Salem, Ore., with outreach to the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

She attended Youth With A Mission Health Care School in Kona, Hawaii, in 1985, and nurses training at Northern Montana College in Havre, in 1986.

Libby attended Flathead Valley Community College at various times, completing an Associate of Arts degree. Throughout her life she worked at several local eateries, including Peppers Pizza, Sizzler and Dos Amigos. She also worked at Maurices, Mahugh Agency, and Colin Andrews State Farm Insurance, and as a contract insurance phlebotomist and home health care giver. Libby worked with her husband in their decorative concrete business.

Along with her husband and children she was an avid hunter and fisherman. She loved the outdoors, her animals, her fountains and flowers.

She was active with her family in 0 Mok See and was the current president of the Smith Valley Saddle Club.

Libby will be remembered by those who knew her and loved her for her quick wit and sense of humor. She was a woman of great courage and perseverance and was an inspiration to family and friends. The great sense of loss will be tempered by the knowledge that she is finally at peace "in her heavenly abode and is dancing on streets of gold, fully healed and full of energy and joy." She will be greatly missed but will forever be loved and held close at heart.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, with Pastor Stappler officiating. Interment will be at Glacier Memorial Gardens followed by a reception at 4 p.m. at Smith Valley School gym.

Viewing will be from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home.

Memorial donations can be sent to Cowboy Down, 3444 Highway 93 S., Building No. 3, Kalispell, MT 59901.
