Mary Ellen 'Winnie' (Gohn) Lampman, 73

Mary Ellen "Winnie" (Gohn) Lampman, 73, of Dutton, retired, died at Peace Hospice of complications related to COPD. At her request ,no immediate services are planned.

She is survived by her companion, Russ Blanchet, of Dutton; daughters, Leslie A. Reheis of Santa Clarita, Calif., and Karin Lampman-Snook of Walnut, Calif.; grandchildren, Keith, Megan, Chelsea, Lauren, and Garrett, and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Eugene Lampman.

Winnie was born in Virginia City on Aug., 23, 1932, to George and Kathryn (Huber) Gohn. The family relocated to the Seattle area during her elementary school years and later moved to Kalispell, where she graduated from Flathead County High School in 1950.

She married Sidney Lampman in 1952, and the couple traveled extensively throughout their marriage, due to his career. Some of her favorite locations were Hawaii, Jamaica and Southern California, but despite all of the travels, Winnie loved her Montana roots.

Winnie's first priority was her family. In her early years, she was a homemaker and spent many years volunteering her time as a Campfire Girl leader. In 1978, she and her husband moved to Colfax, Calif., where she worked for Dr. Curtis Fox, the local physician as an office manager and back office assistant. Winnie retired after 20 years of service, and relocated to Montana.

She loved to garden, cook, entertain and was a fun grandmother. Her request was to be remembered as a kind, considerate loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
