Officers receive training, awards
Some local law-enforcement officers received updated training in domestic-violence issues Thursday, when four also were honored for their work in alleviating the problems.
About 25 people attended the Advanced Domestic Violence Response Training at the justice center.
They represented the sheriff's office and three police departments, county prosecutors, probation and parole officers, and the Violence Free Crisis Line.
Presented by the Montana Law Enforcement Academy, the training included liability of law enforcement, seizure of weapons, and predominant aggressors.
One person from each local law-enforcement jurisdiction received awards for their work against domestic violence.
They were Brandy Arnoux of the Columbia Falls Police Department, Dan Frank of Whitefish Police Department, Jim Brenden of Kalispell Police Department, and Geno Cook of the Flathead County Sheriff's Office.
