A bomb threat resulted in a felony charge against a teenager accused of calling in the threat Monday to Flathead High School.

Matthew Hubbard, 16, of Kalispell is charged with felony intimidation. Police said he made the bomb threat in hopes the school would be closed.

The call came in at about 2 p.m. Because officials believed the threat was a hoax, the school was not evacuated, but authorities gathered emergency services at the school as a precaution.

Police and school officials quickly identified a suspect.

They tracked the phone call to a telephone outside the school and a video was obtained of Hubbard allegedly making the call.

He is charged with intimidation and with probation violation. The penalty for intimidation includes up to 10 years in prison.

Hubbard was taken to the youth jail after his arrest.
