County OKs Bigfork project

The Flathead County commissioners approved a final resolution for a 640-acre growth policy amendment near Bigfork on Wednesday.

The Quarter Circle LA Ranch Neighborhood Plan sets the stage for a 319-unit residential development in the hills east of Montana 35 and south of Montana 209.

The next step will be for a planned unit development proposal to be submitted, outlining the project in detail.

That proposal will go to the Flathead County Planning Board for a public hearing.

Commissioners Joe Brenneman and Bob Watne voted for the amendment; Commissioner Gary Hall was out of the office.
