A Kila man has been charged with gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, vehicle theft, and driving on a suspended license after a fatal crash involving road rage in California.
James Taylor, 20, of Kila, was arrested by California Highway Patrol on Thursday.
He was reportedly driving a 1992 Geo Tracker stolen from Marion between July 17 and 18.
According to CHP reports, Taylor struck a freeway sign and then a large pine tree. His passenger, Nicole Stull, 20, of Salinas, Calif., died in the accident. Another passenger, a 3-year-old child, received minor injuries. Both passengers were ejected from the vehicle.
The report says the car was approaching Casa Verde in Monterey County when Taylor apparently got into a road-rage confrontation. He was hospitalized with a fractured upper arm, jaw and head.
The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured.
